Muhammad Farooq (born 1983) joined emltc as a local partner (Pakistan) in 2022. He is enrolled as an advocate with the Punjab Bar Council since 2006. He started his professional career in 2005 in a law firm in Karachi where he partnered in 2008. Subsequently, he joined Ernst & Young (Pakistan) in 2011. Muhammad Farooq earned a Master of Commerce (M.Com.) from the Hailey College of Commerce (Lahore), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Diploma in Taxation Laws (DTL) and a Diploma in Corporate Law & Practice (DCLP) from the University Law College, University of the Punjab.
- Commercial, corporate, tax & investment law with an emphasis on advising medium-sized entities on entering into and expanding in Pakistan (covering the entire investment cycle)
- Direct and indirect tax advisory and tax litigation.
- Drafting commercial and other operational agreements
Muhammad Farooq has served as the member of several committees of the Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) and the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA). He regularly appears before the Federal Board of Revenue Pakistan (FBR) and various other tax forums and corporate regulatory authorities.
